Bingo Love is a story narrated by Hazel Johnson, who is retelling her story to a woman she knows. The woman was just kicked out of her parents' home after they discovered her attraction to other women, and she asks if she can stay with Hazel, who says yes, and tells her the story about how she went through a similar thing in her youth.

I don't have too much to comment on about this story. It's an easy read that tugs on the heartstrings, which is what I like in a book. I felt a lot of love for the characters and their plight to acceptance of not only the people around them, but themselves.

The only thing I didn't like (which is very minor) is how James, Hazel's husband,
reacted negatively to his wife's coming out. It is implied that he went through a similar situation during his time in the army, where he says he fell in love with someone he met there. So, chances are, he could just be experiencing self-hatred and negatively took it out on Hazel. But, that doesn't make what he said okay.

All in all, if you're looking for something easy to read, this is the book for you.

A sapphic romance spanning a few decades where childhood sweethearts get a second chance at their love after having separate families.

Before reading this, I fell in love with the cover and I did originally think it was going to be about 3 different love stories rather than one couple through their lives but I loved that it was that. This was an incredibly emotional story and the ending absolutely destroyed my soul. The illustrations were so beautiful too. I’d love to see more from these authors!

A beautiful story of two young women who fall in love but due to the nature of societal views at the time are unable to be together. They meet again when both have grandchildren and realise times have changed, they come to terms with the fact the society is more accepting than it was in their youth.

I SOBBED!!

This was a truly beautiful love story about a queer black woman having to hide her love for another woman when she is younger, living her life, and then later in life being able to live the life she truly wants.

These are the stories that need to be told. It is a love story about two middle aged black and brown queer women who find happiness with each other later in life. It talks about how hard it is to come out at any age, in any time period. It also talks about queerness in the black community.
