fast-paced

I highly recommend the latest addition to the Will Trent series, which can also be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Even though I haven't read all the previous books, I found the suspense to be thrilling, with well-developed characters and a captivating relationship between Trent and Linton.

The fast-paced storyline flowed seamlessly, creating an edgy and entertaining atmosphere. However, it's important to note that this read is darker than most in this genre, and some readers may find the graphic details triggering.

If you're a fan of crime and murder mystery thrillers or are new to this author, I strongly suggest giving this book a read. It's an absolute must-read and I can't recommend it enough!

Will Trent is in my top 3 all-time favorite characters in a series, and I have enjoyed the series immensely. However, this one was tedious, too procedural, and just too over the top for me.

Yet another excellent Will Trent/Sara Linton novel with the characters we love, Amanda, Faith and the rest. And of course Karin Slaughter does a fantastic job of bringing in current and timely topics to keep readers thinking and wondering about our world. Well done!

While I don’t always think you need to read all the books in this series in order, I do feel like it’s important to have at least a decently solid background on the characters’ history from previous books in order to really care about most of the stuff that happens in this book — the actual plot kind of comes second to the characters in this one.

This was a decently solid book in the series for me, although it was definitely a bit longer and slower than it needed to be (as is the case with all of the books in this series, really!)
