I like Karin Slaughter but this book took it too far. very disturbing
I've read a few books by Karin Slaughter in the past and enjoyed them. After that night was a struggle for me at times when reading it and I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as some of her previous books. This particular book had a difficult subject matter of females being drugged and raped which can be an uncomfortable read. Karin Slaughter books are always on the slightly more gruesome and graphic side of fiction.
This book is part of the Will Trent series that Karin Slaughter writes. I have read some but not all of this series so am aware of the main characters involved in this series but did struggle at times to keep track of some of the characters in this book who only feature in this particular story.
I would say that if you want to give Karin Slaughter a go there are better books written by her but if you enjoy the Will Trent series you will probably enjoy this latest addition to it.

Another tense and intense thriller from Karin Slaughter featuring Will Trent and both his GBI partner and his partner for life Sara Linton. Her characters are impeccably written and struggling with damage. For Will, it was a horrific foster childhood and for Sara, a devastating rape just as she was to receive a prestigious fellowship in pediatric cardiac surgery. The rape and death of a young girl, Dani Cooper, has raised questions whether it can be related to what happened to her 15 years ago. As always, Slaughter keeps you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended!
Honestly I don’t know how Karin Slaughter keeps doing this. Her books tug on every emotion, every time. I find myself laughing (yes laughing), being appropriately angry, annoyed, teary eyed every time I read one of her books. She is a master and crafting human emotions in a book and stringing us along until the last minute. I will
Never tire of reading Karin Slaughter books.
