I truly love that feeling of dread & such suspense that Bentley Little knows how to leave readers with. He can turn something that seems so mundane & turn it into nightmare fuel. Definitely worth a read!

I read this book many years ago. I remember thinking that Bentley Little reminded me a little bit of Richard Laymon. His books are disturbing at times. But, fun reads for horror fans. The Mailman was creepy and gory.

The idiot characters kept going to the police. A quick read, but went too far for my comfort zone ne.

I finished reading The Mailman and was pleasantly surprised how much I actually enjoyed it. Going into it I thought it would be cheesy. There was something about its description that just gave off vibe de fromage. But it wasn't bad at all and is actually quite original.
At times while reading The Mailman I was reminded of King's Needful Things and his more recent Under the Dome. This is not a bad thing. What Bentley has done in The Mailman is enliven and make original the basic trope on which King's novels are based: stranger puppet-master comes to town and all hell is subsequently let loose.
In the end I give The Mailman 4 stars: I really enjoyed it. This was my first Bentley novel and I will undoubtedly be reading others.
