While I love a long book, it seems like there is too much here. Keeping the main conflict going during what felt like AGES of side quests started to wear thin. Still a fun read, but would have made more sense as 2 books at least. Starting to get a bit repetitive though, hoping that the next book shakes up the pattern a bit.

The Good:
- Like many others have said, the middle part of the book is great. The series did need some worldbuilding and still kind of does. But, added worldbuilding is always a plus in my book.
- This could be good or bad but the named venin could be interesting characters or just completely flop.
- Ridoc and his depression (if you know, you know)
- Also, Ridoc is more than a comedic relief and becomes more of a friend to violet than the relagated class clown he was in the first two books.
- Dain getting getting slapped
- Aaric replacing Halden, Halden is an ass and its funny when stuff happens to him but Aaric needs more time to shine.
- Swayer and Jessinia, it was bound to happen sometime.
- Saved the best for last, Broccoli
The Bad:
- As said in the good section, the middle of the book was good but the beginning and end were terrible.
- The twist at the end
With Violet waking up with a ring on her hand and no memories..... was just really freakin stupid. Xaden's mom reveal was massively underwhelming, especially since the build up was happening for awhile. - Bodhi again gets relegated to a background character and just a replacement for Xaden whenever he's off doing Xaden things. Honestly, Rebecca must have something against him.
- Most characters like Imogen, Bodhi, Rhi, Aaric and others do not really get any development which is a bummer since they were on an adventure together and was a perfect time for something that to happen.
- Switching POV's section really killed the pacing in the climax and only had two notable things that happened,
Imogen's second signet and Quinn's death. - Xaden and Violet's relationship feels like it kind of stagnated a little bit in this story, obviously there were some reasons for it to not develop as much as it did in the first two books, but it felt like it didn't really improve much if at all.
The Hilarious:
- Ridoc of course is him usual self most of the time.
- The slap.
- Mira kicks a couple balls.
- of course the cringy sex scenes and dialogue are here.
This is easily the weakest book of the three and I can see this book chasing a lot of readers away as the pacing changed from a bunch of sex crazed young adults fighting a war that they are getting their asses kicked in too an upbeat adventure and back to fighting a war and getting their ass kicked kind of unappealing. I will of course finish this series and look forward to it. But I hope Rebecca makes a btter 4th book or I am going to dread reading the 5th one.
