I think this may be my favorite in the series so far? The coziness of Violet and Xaden's relationship mixed with the adventure and high intensity of the tasks at hand are just so well written! Literally wanted to keep turning the pages to see what happened next!

It was not as good as I was hoping but also not as bad as other books I’ve read. It felt like we didn’t really move the story forward and there are still so many unanswered questions which is frustrating. I was able to follow the story well enough although many of the side characters are indistinguishable to me. But I love Xaden and am here for the end of his story.

This book made me feel so many things. It took me a HOT (hotter than dragon fire) minute to get through, but it packed that classic Yarros cliffhanger that makes you wanna scream and time travel to the next book release to find out what happens next.

I found the more frequent mini adventures/conflicts and emergence/re-emergence of minor characters without backstory slightly confusing, but I still felt all the feelings for our group fighting for all that is right!

I do need Xaden to be ok, his struggle and conflict was the most interesting part of the story for me. I didn’t want to care about fictional people, but I do!! Give them their happy ending and quick please!!
