So many mysteries in this book, so much joining-the-dots and making sense of things from books 1&2. I love the characters and their relationships - the love and the friendships are what make this book so lovable. I love how much more we now know about the magic and the dragons in this universe - but yet still have so many questions!

Some of the quirky writing of this series (the very contemporary mannerisms and language that just doesn’t seem to match this world) bothered me less this time, maybe I’m just used to the vibe now. I liked the departure from the setting of the first two books, the new worlds were fun to explore. 

While I love a long book, it seems like there is too much here. Keeping the main conflict going during what felt like AGES of side quests started to wear thin. Still a fun read, but would have made more sense as 2 books at least. Starting to get a bit repetitive though, hoping that the next book shakes up the pattern a bit.

Look, I’m annoyed at how much I like this series. I got it bc dragons. I hate the “spicy” scenes - I’m not here for that. But there’s actually a great story under all this. I’m also annoyed bc now I have to wait til next year for the next one.

This series is EVERYTHING to me. I love all of the characters, even the dragons. Xaden and Violet’s  connection is so strong and I love them. The found family is amazing and the plot is just as good. The ending though had me messed up it was so crazy.
