I think this book was marketed wrong. This is not a light and funny romcom about to queer teens, serious topics, about mental health, parental neglect, queerphobia are present on nearly every page. The story is good, and it’s a fresh take on the Romeo and Juliet storyline. I don’t see myself reading this again.

I didn’t realise it was a Romeo and Juliet retelling until I was halfway through it, and I don’t know why I still get surprised when the “Romeo” character ends up being a dick.
