22 chapters of dante cavallaro being in love and hug up on his ex wife carla , this book is a romance just not between dante and valentina
And apart from valentina accepting to be sloppy second place the book was utterly boring , dante had the personality of a stale piece of bread , and i'm 100% sure if she hadn't gotten pregnant he would had kept treating her like 2nd best to his ex wife
The only good thing about the book was Antonio

dude this book fucking SUCKED. i’ve been on my mafia/dark romance reading grind recently and i heard this bound by series was really good, the first one was okay but it felt a lite rushed.
this one though. horrible. both victoria and dante have NO personality like at all except that she gets upset that he mourns his dead first wife.
the ending was so rushed all the sudden he is over his first wife and is in love with her within the last 15 pages.
waste of my time

I originally skipped this book on my first read through of the series, since it was listed as a standalone. And boy do I regret that decision. From the chapter one Dante and Valentina quickly became one of my favorite couples, and dare I say Bound my Duty is my favorite book in the series. There is a presence of a maturity between the couple, that's not necessarily present in the other books. Valentina didn't take the cards delt to her laying down. She fought for everything she wanted in this story. And watching Dante's character development through out was beautiful. The sex scene were more sensual than steamy, but perfect for this couple. Multiple plot twists allowed the story to get more interesting with each page. And despite being listed as standalone, it definitely added more insight and other perspectives for events in Bound by Honor and the following Bound by Hatred. As well as new information not found in either of the books. However similar to Bound by Honor, it lacked the male lead's pov, which I think would have added just a little more to the story and what was going through his mind. Of course the pov "issues" are corrected in all of Cora's following books. Overall great read, I can't wait to reread it again in the future and watch Dante and Valentina fall in love all over again.
