Really good book, helped to change my perspective on what it's like to be fat in our current society. I loved the characters and the setting!
That being said, it wasn't my personal favorite thing - too much angst, and WAY too explicit sex scenes that were always a little bit too sappy. Otherwise I loved it!

Yes! Oh how sweet and fluffy, positive and caring this dual-POV romance is! I had such a great time with the cosplaying, fanfic-writing, geologist April and the dyslexic, also fanfic-writing, famous actor Marcus, as they meet and fall in love, navigating their various troubles together, including fatphobic and ableist family and fans. Highly recommend - their chemistry was fantastic and the intimacy was steamy, plus the chapter intros with various fanfic snippets and Marcus’ previous roles were clever and fun!

Dear Ms. Dade,
Thank you SO MUCH for making me believe that heterosexual romance isn't a completely abysmal, hopeless genre.
Sincerely,
A Fan
Seriously though, this was SO GOOD. Reading it was a delight, and I'm pretty sure I smiled most of the way through this (with breaks for gasping "oh NOOOOOOO" as needed, of course). I loved that Marcus had dyslexia. I loved that April was fat and not at all inclined to do anything about that fact (as a fat girl, this is SO IMPORTANT). I loved that they both had to deal with their parents and I loved that those relationships weren't totally resolved by the end of the book.
I also loved the way fandom was handled in this! Fandom is such a huge part of many of our lives, and I loved how respectfully it was treated. I also LOVED Alex, and can't wait to read his book next.

Oh man, this took me back to my Quizilla (pre-AO3) days where I would obsess over fanfics and writing them myself. I lovedddddd this book and can’t wait to start the next one!

I wanted to like this more, but this had a trope I dislike--the conflict is driven by a secret that is kept (and really, I didn't buy that the secret was kept so long.
Spoiler
This is the story of a romance between two people who know each other in the real world, and before that in an online fandom--except only one of the two realizes that they knew each other online, and he keeps that secret for months instead of trusting his new girlfriend even though it's clear that he's going to slip at some point, and also even though it makes him an asshole.
