I love these books. This one, our if the ones I’ve read so far, comes the closest to measuring up to the first book. That said, I have no idea where this is going, but I’m excited to see where it goes

The first half was kind of confusing as I had no idea what was going on, but the second half was much better.

not my favorite Odd book, but good, lost me with some time travel and made me ponder and my heart ache at the thought of going back in time to bring to the present a loved one!

I didn't actually finish the whole thing. Got kind of sick of it, might finish it another time. I loved all the other Odds and will still read the next one. This one was just a little much.

I read the past two, but this one is especially odd. Not sure if I'm on board with the next installment.

Excellent book in an excellent series. The thing about this book that I really like is there is a feeling within the series now that it is actually headed somewhere as opposed this just being yet another adventure with Odd. This is a more lonely Odd than normal, I don't really mean that he is sad, that he is lone in the book for most of it. While still travelling with his new friend Annamaria and his dogs Raphael and Boo, they are not really with Odd through most the book, they keep to their room and out of the way. And even his ghostly companion for this book, Mr Hitchcock, is barely there. So mostly it is just Odd interacting with the disturbing and strange residents and happening in Roseland. Because of that the story feels more like Forever Odd than the previous few books.

I have seen other reveiwers have said this was a darker book than the rest of the series and they are right about that Odd does his best to lighten the mood and at times it evens seem inappropriate but he tries to anyway. Still the characters are interesting and the mystery of Roseland is intriguing and the slow pace at which Koontz unveils the mystery of Roseland is great. The book feels the perfect length and keeps you guessing for quite some time, sure you understand, then something else happens and you realize you had it wrong.

All in all it is as good as an of the other Odd Thomas books, if your a fan of the series don't hesitate, but if your a fan of the series you probably didn't need me to tell you that.
