Okay I have to admit something. I was not looking forward to Preston's book. I always thought he was the biggest man-whore out of all of them and didn't think I could fall for him.
I now take that back.
Amanda has grown up loving her older brothers best friend. So when she finally has a shot with him, she doesn't hold back. I liked that Amanda's feelings and actions weren't perfect. Her feelings and lust took over her good morales. This to me made it so much better than all the other girls. She fought for Preston and tried to win over his attention even when we were all probably yelling at her to stop being such an idiot!
This may sound silly, but there was really only two main reasons I gave this book 4 stars instead of 3. Deep down in my heart, learning about Prestons past and his family and what goes on in the end, honestly brought real tears to my eyes. It was so raw, heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time.
I may not hate Preston anymore moving forward. For now......

Another great and emotional book from Abbi Glines! A must-read for all the fans of the series and this awesome writer!
Warning: For Mature Readers Only: Contains Sexual Situations, Language and Underage Drinking
Abbi Glines has done it again. By that I mean writing another book that keeps you so compelled that you basically forget to breathe while reading it. Ms Glines is absolutely one of my all time favourite authors of all time. She is one of the best story creators that I know of. The other day I told Kayleigh of K_Books that it doesn’t matter which genre it is that this woman writes, you read it without a doubt. You drop everything immediately and get comfy and read until the last page. I get sucked into every single one of her stories and even when I have finished it, I am still in the world in which the story takes place. I am still right there with every character experiencing everything they are going through. If you love stories that make your emotions go all topsy-turby and smooshes your insides then any Abbi Glines book is for you.
Just For Now is the fourth book in the Sea Breeze series and it did not disappoint. Even though my favourite story so far was Cage and Eva’s in While It Lasts, Just For Now helped me to create a special bond with Preston. So far in every book he has been described as a player because of his extreme hotness and the fact that he has a different girl basically every night and doesn’t care how he breaks their hearts because honestly he is Preston Drake so why should he? That is SO not the case. We find out a very dark secret that he has been hiding so that he is able to care for his three very young siblings since his mother is a good for nothing drunk and can’t even look after herself let alone her children. So he basically became a male prostitute in order to care for them and it is a secret that not even his best friend Marcus Hardy knows.
He has been in love with Marcus’s little sister, Amanda, for a very long time but knows he will never be good enough for her so he does everything possible to make her hate him, little does he know that she has the same feelings for him and has been trying to get him to notice her forever. In the beginning they sleep together but Preston is drunk and thinks it was all a dream so naturally Amanda thinks that it meant nothing to him and tries her best to move on. The entire story is about two people afraid to trust each other for fear of being hurt again and also about finding love in the unlikeliest of people.
This story made me smile, go awwwwwwww and cry my heart out in separate occasions. I felt like such an emotional mess and just had to sit back a few times and process everything that I have just read. I honestly love this book so much and I am very satisfied about the ending for Preston and Amanda as well as for Preston’s siblings.
It is a definite must read for everyone and also for those who have lost hope that they do not deserve love because of things in their past.

Damn that was short, it leave me wanting more. It was a good, entertaining story, but I think conflicts were solved too easily, I kind of like a little bit more struggle, make it more real, but I liked it anyway, I felt the chemistry between the characters and that was nice. The book reminded me of two books in another series 'The Forbidden Men' by Linda Kage (Price of a Kiss and A Perfect Ten) so that was kinda cool too.
I picked this up on a whim when this author's section of books surprised me being in the YA section of my library. I'm not saying YA books can't have explicit sex scenes, but I'm not used to them being advertised on the cover. And honestly, this feels more like new adult, that romance sub-genre that doesn't quite fit in the adult section and doesn't quite fit in the YA section.
Our main characters, Preston and Amanda are so very young. Yes, Preston's been with a lot of women, but he's never been in a real relationship and his childhood's filled with a boatload of trauma he hasn't even begun to unpack. Amanda's the typical spoiled rich girl with a big heart. She's wants all the best things for the people in her life, but has no idea how unattainable those things seem for people who grew up on the wrong side of town. Still they can't deny the attraction they feel for each other, even though they shouldn't. Preston's best friend is Amanda's brother. He knows Preston's track record better than anyone and will kill him if he thinks Preston even wants to touch his little sister.
I think I finally understand why I've never really gotten into new adult books - I'm not into the messy angst of first-time adult love. This reminded me a lot of Twilight or 50 Shades as far as the emotional maturity of the characters goes. I've read both those series and enjoyed them for what they were, but they're not usually my jam. That's pretty much how I feel about this one. I wanted to see the characters get their HFN, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit, I skimmed some of the parts that weren't directly related to the romance plot.
If every book has it's reader, I'm fine with admitting that I wasn't really this book's intended reader.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I could not put it down! Just as everything else Abbi Glines writes, it was amazing!! It had a great story!
This is the 4th book in a 9 book companion series. I skipped the 2nd book because I wasn't interested and even though I'm interested in a few more of the characters and their lives, I'm tired of the books. They're basically just sex books with mild personality thrown in there which is a shame because I REALLY LOVE the characters! Although, this book and the last one were almost the exact same. Bad boys who sleeps around with everyone woman he comes in contact with until *gasp* the one comes and changes his life forever and puts an end to his man whore ways. Not to mention both of these girls were the completely innocent, virgin girls, literally. And the main premise around the struggle of the relationships is that the bad boys just weren't good enough for those sweet girls. eyeroll. The characters were pretty much the same, they just had different stories.
It gets 3 stars because I really want to know more about the friends/characters, but I just can't keep on reading these shallow, testosterone filled crap stories.
But seriously, are there ANY cute romance stories that don't involve heavy sex scenes? I just want to read something cute that's not a high school romance. sigh

I first picked up this book when I discovered Abbi Glines back in 2012/2013.
Her first book I ever read was the Vincent Boys, and I was on a hunt for all of her books and during that time I read everything of hers I could get my hands on and deemed her my favorite author.
Of course, over time that has changed and I found Abbi’s newer books to be immature and not as entertaining.
This book wasn’t bad, it is the 4th book in the Sea Breeze series. When I first read it I rated it 5 stars of course because I was 20 and loved the YA stuff.
After 9 years and a quick re-read, I dropped it to 4 stars. The book is still good and for the most part entertaining, it’s just kind of annoying to read the same things over & over again.
“ I have to stay away from her, I’m not good enough for her”
“Preston is so beautiful and every girl wants him”
What KILLS me about Abbi’s books is that every guy is “beautiful” or “town manwhore” or “every girl wants him”. I live in a small town in the South, not far from where Abbi use to live in Alabama, this is not a thing!
I don’t know a single guy that is so beautiful that every girl wants him, not even when I was in high school.
I feel like the aspects in her book of the men and women, look wise, are always unrealistic and unrelateable.
Also, it would be nice in at least one YA where the main characters aren’t beautiful, skinny/have abs, and didn’t have a “dark” or “privileged” past.
I know books are an escape and you don’t want them to be realistic for the most part but at least have some aspects of real people.
All in all to end my rant, I enjoyed the book and the story.
The writing could have been better and less “southern”, just because we’re from the South doesn’t mean we don’t know how to speak English properly.
