Best of the series! The reveal at the eleventh hour of the 3rd book had me absolutely shaken. I was obsessed when I started this one. Such a killer twist! Georgiana was amazing. And I appreciated that, for once, there WAS a solid reason separating the couple in the final climax. I love MacLean, but sometimes what keeps the couples apart is so trivial. But there was something real between these two.
One thing I didn’t enjoy as much was Duncan’s hero complex about “saving” Georgiana. She can, and has, already saved herself, dude. Settle down.

I LOVE CHASE AND WEST
Absolutely my favorite from this series. I already knew Chase's identity before reading, and was binge-reading Sarah MacLean's books so that I could get to this one because I needed to know more about her story. It was SO fun seeing my girl being the badass that she deserved to become after everything she went through in the first series. Also, I spent the whole series hoping that West would get a romance, and the back and forth between these two for this one was so good.
(Though I was kind of losing my mind at Westrefusing to accept the hints that Georgiana dropped that she's Chase , but I guess that goes along with the theme of "people see what they want to see" that comes up in the book multiple times.)

Listen I just love Sarah MacLean's work and I won't apologize for it!!! Georgiana and Duncan are the most perfectly matched couple I've seen in a minute, and I loved the way they challenged and (attempted to) outmanuever each other at every turn. There are some breathtakingly emotional moments in here when each LI is overtaken by a sense of hopelessness that they can't be together. I will say that I felt like the reasons why Duncan and Georgiana "couldn't" be together felt a bit overblown, and I felt like some things were missing from the book, especially a confession to Cynthia about her origins and Duncan's past. Also, the "wise beyond her years" child helping her mother see the error of her ways bit was a touch corny, but I'm willing to forgive it because the chemistry between Duncan and Georgiana remains unmatched.

One thing about Sarah MacLean is that she will give us a cunnilingus scene in a creative location and then have the hero walk away before sealing the deal and absolutely leave us hanging.
