This book was fun and cute. The more serious topics/traumas were similar between the MFC and MMC. This at times was great to show how people with similar issues/trauma can support each other. This did also cause some lulls in the story because there wasn't a lot of diversity with their issues. If you're looking for an easy summer story with occasional drama then this would most likely be a book for you.

The way the toxic parents were handled did seem realistic and how the characters moved through the issues/progressed were stressful at times, If you've experienced these similar issues, but also relieving around any resolutions.

Happy to see the continuation of the characters from Icebreaker also making appearances.

Wildfire is a book about Aurora and Russ , Russ who was previously mentioned in the infamous ice rink scandal in IceBreaker , navigating their crapton of emotional trauma that started from their families neglect in different ways. The book switches between both of their POVs as we watch them break down and navigate their pain together.

Now I'll start with what I didn't like and go from there.  Spoilers will be tagged !

As with the first book there was alot of sex. Like , A LOT lol. Now personally I don't have a problem reading through spices scenes and don't have the same problem as some people who think it's too much. What I don't like is the location of these scenes. I understand they have sex in staff majority places but children dont always follow the rules. The door to their cabins would be unlocked for obvious comedic effect of someone walking in but realistically those times could've been kids , that includes some other chosen locations. I just don't like how often they seemed to have sex in easy to catch places with kids at the camp  , maybe the layout was misunderstood to me but idk. 🤷🏽‍♀️

As always ,  we've got ✨️parental issues✨️ , which my traumatized ass has no problem with but
I didnt like how Aurora's relationship with her mother started magically fixing itself just because she showed up at the camp & gave Aurora revelation about her dad. Aurora's mom was emotionally mentally and drainging her , there definitely shouldve been a confrontation but the story made it seem like it was all the dads neglect fault?? i aint like that , both if them had equal parts in her childhood traumas.
. And i dont knkw its its just me but sometimes i was confused on who was talking? That might've just been because i was tired though lol.

I like how the communication of their trauma smoothly ties into their relationship. At the end of the day these are hurt people who are trying to heal , 3 months over YEARS won't solve it but it did a pretty good job.

"Guys , if we lose because you're all short and Aurora is a pig stealer , I'm going to be so pissed"

The communication in this book is heavenly to me.  Problems get talked through and everyone holds their actions accountable,  which reminds me that this is just a book lol.
"I'm watching you go in so you don't have to watch me leave."    Was what fully sold me on Russ , his growth from the first book is astounding and I'm glad he learned to accept the love & family around him as Aurora did.

It's been months since I read IceBreaker so I wasn't sure if I'd connect but WHEW! The characters are loveable and hilarious as always , Xander and JJ really snuck into my heart and I hope Xander stays for the next book(?).  Both old and new characters will make you laugh and make you want another story to see how their lives play out. I am kinda sad at the ending but it did make me happy still.
wish the time skip hadn't been that wide but maybe its setting up for the next book?
I hope there's a third book , I'd love to read about Henry or JJ.

"I will spiral later , alone , like a regular person. Or if I'm feeling reall  adventurous , I'll bottle it up and bury it deep down , letting it erupt at a much later , more inconvenient time"

One of the easiest five stars I've given in awhile! This book was exactly what I needed. This book is achingly romantic, funny, charming, and full of butterflies. A light and fluffy summer romance at its finest but with lots of deep personal problem that the characters work through. If you are looking for a good time you have found it in this book. This is the kind of Romane that I look for. Not only one where the characters fall in love with each other but that makes me fall in love right along with them. I truly ached for these characters and their romance and I couldn't be happier. It was truly wonderful and even though I just finished it I want to read it all over again.
