Tropes: Forced proximity, mafia romance
Spice Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sloane is feisty, fearless, and absolutely not here for anyone’s alpha male nonsense—especially not Declan, the Irish mobster who kidnaps her. Yep, he kidnaps her. It’s absolutely bonkers, I know. These two are constantly at each other’s throats… and that anger soon turns into a fiery heat.
Sloane is hilarious. She is snarky, and she has so many quick, witty comebacks that made me giggle, and to top that off, she refuses to be intimidated by these Irish mobsters. And Declan? Total grump with a hidden soft side. Their banter was chef’s kiss! Their chemistry is off the charts, and if you love intense spice with a side of chaos, this book brings it.
That said, the plot kind of goes off the rails. The mafia stuff gets super over-the-top (which I kind of expect for a mafia romance), and there were moments that felt more of just spice overload and not much plot.
Still, if you want a high-heat, action-packed, banter-filled, totally bonkers mafia romance where the heroine holds her own and the tension never lets up, this one’s a wild ride.
🎧 Listened to this book. It’s a duet narration which added to the listening experience.

I didn't love Declan quite as much as Kage, but this was still hilarious and fun!

I really didn't think I would like Sloan as much as I did. She kind of annoyed me in the first book. And holy crap I was pissed at the ending. How dare Kage! Can't wait to read the next book.
