Simply Great

I must say that the playful banter and quick wit of the two main characters as they speak to one another is a win for me. The plot keeps you engrossed and I love that the girl is kidnapped and falls heavily, though unwillingly, for her captor.
Bringing in elements of Book 1 makes the story even more interesting. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Ms Geissinger literally created the best mafiaverve I’ve read so far. The conflict, the bloodshed, the crazy morally gray but obsessive men and equally insane (or maybe not?) ladies. I still love first book a little more because I always have a soft spot for soft heroines and their stories had a mire layers to it (like besides the mafia part, we say how Nat suffered from the disappearance of her fiancé and the depression come with that, and then untangled the whole mess that were associated with it, etc.) while Sloane’s was 90% Mafia love story.

4.5 Stars

Okay, I have a new favourite female character and her name is Sloane. Seriously, I loved her in book one but I ADORED her in book two. She is an absolute badass. A fiesty, scarily clever and HILARIOUS woman who absolutely made this book for me. The fact she also has had a tough life and therefore walls of steel ten metres thick around her heart only made this better. Her ability to control men and make them fall in line was absolutely majestic to watch too. Can you tell I love her?!
I have to say, the storyline in this one was better than the first too. I did NOT expect the big twists and I usually see them coming a mile off. Also the humour was just brilliant but not only did this book make me laugh, it also made me well up too, which is RARE for me to tear up with books.
Declan...a very interesting character and I loved him and Sloane together but I would have liked just a little more independent personality from him, hence not quite 5 stars.
The romance was really well done, enemies to lovers but not instalove nor a slowburn. It was perfect and the smut was HOT.

I am loving this series and cannot wait to read the next book!
