I just finished Take it Back and so my expectations were high, but I found the characters to be unlikeable.  That said the twists snd turns made it well worth reading.

This was a harrowing, tragic tale that kept me intrigued to see how it all ended! I really enjoyed the courtroom drama aspect of it. I didn't find any of the characters particularly likeable and had a hard time connecting with them. Besides the fact that this covers the tragedy of a young child losing their life, which in and of itself is very heartbreaking, I felt that there was little emotional depth in any of the characters. Max himself felt more like a plot device to move things along rather than a child that these characters truly treasured. I also wasn't a big fan of the ending... That being said, though, it kept me hooked throughout and wanting to find out more when the story ended!
