Jaw on the FLOOR

This is one of those thrillers that are intense the whole time. It's a story that revolves around this devastating tragedy that hugely affects all of the characters involved. The intensity with which Abdullah delivers most of the scenes made me hold on to my seat. I really like how the story flows. It's well-paced and absolutely compelling. It manages to keep me turning the pages and emotionally invested. I enjoyed the whole trial and how things played out. The revelations were shocking and crazy, but I felt like they kind of ruined the vibe of the story for me. Still Great! This is my first Abdullah, and it won't be the last.

SpoilerMy favorite Leila Syed moment: "What I believe is that you’re a hack, Will. A cheap, unoriginal hack." "Whatever this was, it’s over. You don’t talk to me again. You don’t call me. You don’t text me. You just collect your records and your fucking guitar and then I don’t ever want to see you again." "And you’re a spineless weasel who’s made a career of being a prick. Well, congratulations, Will! I hope that column gets you a fucking award since you haven’t managed one so far."

The characters in this book each gave me more and more reasons to dislike each and every one of them. Frustrating people. Well written though! 👏🏼

I enjoyed this book and the plot twist / twists. I also liked the court room part and how that gave in new details in an organic way
