I was slightly dubious at first. While I have chuckled along to Yahtzee's games reviews, I was unsure as to whether his sardonic tone would be prevalent throughout this book, and therefore whether it would start to grate.

Not to worry, this is a genuinely funny book. He has somehow managed to write physical comedy, no mean feat. The sort of gags that don't really exist in books.

Fun (if slightly broad stroked) characters, breakneck speed, genuinely funny gags. What more could you want?

Fun satirical space adventure. I blitzed through it quickly and enjoyed it. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good romp

Meh. I struggled a bit with this. Light hearted sci-fi which I do often enjoy but I didn’t really get to like the characters much. Pleased I tried it but probably won’t come back for more.

Funny, not quite hilarious.

This is light entertainment. The author was attentive to the world he created and to the plot.

The style is not great. Metaphors are thrown in generously in an attempt to make the story funnier, at the expense of brevity and rhythm.

The book is not a satire: the cover rather means « tries to be funny », most likely to attract hitchhikers guide fans.

The lead character’s story arc is somewhat interesting. The other characters don’t enjoy the same effort. The female characters are not flattering to women in general, a bit cringeworthy even for unsupervised male readers.
