Good taut thriller. Slowly to develop but it worked well with the location and characters.

Love myself a good family drama where they are tested with something difficult and need to come togheter and come through it, but this wasn't that for me. I wasn't invested with the family's issues and the characters didn't stand out to me which is both important for me. Finished it for the sake of finish it

From start to finish, I enjoyed every word of this book.

Often, books with a mystery as the core plot are predictable. The Glass House was never predictable, it kept me guessing from the beginning and I truly couldn’t guess what would be revealed by the end.

I think the character development was also on point. At the beginning the female characters are portrayed as weak, smitten, passive. By the end they have grown or revealed their inner strength. I personally appreciate a book with female characters who stand for themselves and don’t depend on others for their own wellbeing and happiness.

Thank you Simon and Schuster for sending this to me, I’m so glad I was able to read and experience this book. Cynthia Swanson, you absolutely crushed this and I can’t wait to read more from you.

I’m genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. If I were out shopping for a novel myself, I would not have picked up this book, so I’m glad my subscription box sent it to me! When I began reading, I thought the beginning was quite slow, but it was beautifully written. I loved the historical aspect with its ample details. Each detail contained in the beginning of the novel contributed to the ending. It was one of the most satisfying (and heart wrenching) endings I have ever read! I highly recommend.

This was a very good read. I like the short chapters and different perspectives. Loved the ending

I didn't really care for the POV jumping. However, the characters were interesting, and the storyline was engaging enough. Mostly predictable though.

I think this was a finalist on our bookclub selection list. It wasn't picked but was available from the library so I read it. I guess sometimes there are reasons why books are available because this one just didn't do it for me. I didn't really click with any of the characters and even the actual story just dragged for me.

This was less thriller and read more like a contemporary fiction to me. Was not for me put it down at the 40 % mark. There are too many books on my TBR and not enough lifetime to continue on with this. Just didn't care.

I enjoyed the slow burn of this book. I loved how the characters developed as the story went on. I was hoping for more of a perspective from one of the brothers. I thought that utilizing the time period and the settings so carefully, almost making them characters as well, was quite clever. It kept me thinking until the end. Enjoyable family drama/mystery.
