I couldn't quite get into this book. There was just something about it- some of it was that I had trouble keeping the characters straight in my head.

okay, let me just highlight some slay moments from this book:
- not cathy dying from a brain fever
- I, too, would love to degenerate into a mere slut, Heathcliff
- "Heathcliff, if I were you, I'd go stretch myself over her grave, and die like a faithful dog" omg NELLY that's brutal
- not Nelly calling Linton's letters worthless trash I caNNOT
- not Nelly calling Linton A PERISHING MONKEY

Nelly was my favorite from this book as well as these long passages when Bronte writes about her character's emotions, those are always really insightful but this book took everything from me
but hey, at least I have a pretty new addition to my library

nelly dean deserves the world for putting up with these people. it's like they're in a reality tv show but like in the 1800's. i love the drama.

Quando ho acquistato questo libro sapevo fosse intenso, ma ora non ho più dubbi. Ogni volta che finivo un capitolo dovevo riporre il libro in grembo e prendermi una pausa, ed è proprio questo che me lo ha fatto amare. Consigliatissimo.

All the emotions it made me feel gave me a whiplash, and surely, one of the most beautiful works ever written.

so thrilling........... haunting in its portrayal of suffering, violence and sickening obsession turning into insanity. the image of heathcliff's and cathy's ghosts hanging around the moors will never leave me
