Aside from Tomie this is one my favorite of Junji Ito books. I don’t really enjoy the plots of most of his stories and find his level of “Horror” to be laughable, all horror honestly, maybe I have dark humor. All his stories are pointless. But that is the point I’ve come to understand. As I also undersand he’s influenced by the work of H.P Lovecraft but his work lacks the depth and meaning displayed in Lovecraft’s work. But this has different tone more mysterious than just the regular ominous telling of his other works making it more mentally stimulating and enjoyable in my opinion.

That aside I’m not a fan of most graphic novels because the plots seem shallow and juvenile and the illustrations aren’t enough to keep my interest. But I always throughly enjoy his illustrations. I think that is why he stands out so much and his novels popularity compared to his contemporaries.

A disturbing piece of short fiction that plays a lot more to Ito’s strengths as a talented artist with a nice quick and digestible story to showcase his horrifying artistic talent.

Definitely one of my favorites from ito.

Sejatinya mau ngasih bintang 3, perkembangan ceritanya ngga banyak.

The Enigma of Amigara Fault".

Suka bangettttt!

I sometimes think about this.

- rec by Tim and steven universe ref.

This is a really short story, so you can finish it in about 10 min. and enjoy the art and such in that time easily.

I seen references to this story after watching Steven Universe and decided to read it for myself. There is a fault that opened up that has human silhouette holes in them that are too deep to even be calculated. Scientists are baffled because of how strange this event is and it gets weirder as people come from all around searching for their holes. Many of them go in never to be seen again..did they die? Where did they go? It's a mystery...yet people are compelled to go into these holes even though it basically means death for them. The ending is super unsettling and fantastic, the mystery in this book leaves me thinking and it's definitely one I will remember! ~Ashley
