5 stars — AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I have the BIGGEST GIRL CRUSH IN HISTORY!!!! I remember Code of Conduct being my favourite book (that I read) from Smartypants Romance Launch #1, and Ms. White was a new author to me at that time. So I had high hopes for this story, but anything can happen, you know? Well fear not. I’m pretty sure this is going to be my favourite book from launch #2. I actually loved it EVEN MORE than book 1, and I adored that our characters were quite different, and the situation was quite different from the previous book. Different but just as intriguing. I think that’s hella hard to do, you know?
Anyways, so why was this book such a hit out of the park for me? Characters, characters, characters. Anna. Was. AMAZING. I mean, I honest to fucking god had to hold myself back from highlighting the whole goddamn book. I kept reading bits out loud to my hubby (who probably just thinks I’m crazy). She’s seriously crazy. Her imagination was just delightful. I LOVE quirky people like that, I seriously do. She was so innocent, and authentic, and I just loved her. I want to be her friend. I loved that she had so many dimensions too — that she loved herself, but also felt like she was in her sister’s shadow. That we got to see how she became the woman she became.
Which is not to say that Darius wasn’t an absolute gem, because he was! I almost feel bad for the guy, because he was super delightful, but I was so entrenched in my girl crush that he’s not going to get the level of gushing he deserves. I found that the Darius we meet RIGHT at the beginning didn’t quite feel like he fit with the Darius in the rest of the book…I’m still working through that. I think a reread is necessary. Darn. I loved how unique Darius was in the book boy world — basically my favourite. He was 100% unapologetically himself as well. And I found his background fascinating — I loved the things he had to work through to grow. It was very satisfying (and heartwrenching at times).
And DUDES! The two of them together?? They just meshed so well…well, except for where they had to learn to grow towards one another, but they got there eventually. But the chemistry between them was just fantastic. I loved watching them interact, and I LOVED the first sexy times (it was so real and happiness inducing). I just loved them. Together and apart.
The mystery was fascinating! I always learn so much when I read a book by Ms. White! I had to look up a few things all on my own. History is not something that interests me in general, but I love the way this author weaves it into her books and then occasionally hijacks it for her plot. Fascinating.
The other thing that I loved about the first book, and that I loved about this book, is the prominence of some fabulous secondary characters. I LOVE that we get actual face time with characters from the KITC series, but we also got to see characters I met and fell in love with in Code of Conduct. You 100% can read this one completely as a standalone, but I love that it has extra fun goodness for fans!
So yeah. There you go. Gushing review. I don’t know, this one just made me so happy. I’m going to be in major book hangover now, I can just FEEL IT.

I am a bit on the fence with this book.
At first the humor was a bit juvenile for me, I almost didn't bother but it got better.
The set up is the heroine is a twin and the Hero meets her while she is pretending to be her sister, but he realises things aren't quite right.
The twin sister has a one night stand with 'the mark' but the Hero thinks it's the heroine and she has just slept with another man, he even sees camera footage of it and then he has sex with the heroine some hours later.
That felt a bit ew to me.
Yes he is having sex with the heroine and it's the heroines twin sister he saw having sex with another man but he thinks it's the heroine.
There are a few intimate comments about the sister and other man.
Intimate scene with the Hero and heroine.
Also the pooing on a boat scene.... Really... Ew... And why have that there??
Humor? I think not, I suppose it depends on your taste.
We see glimpses of Quinn, Dan and Stan, as they all work at Cipher Security and the previous couple from an earlier book.
That said the plot of the theft is quite clever and the book is well written.
HEA in form of happy for now, I imagine we may see bits of them as a couple in future books in series.

If you have read April White’s first book in the Smartypants Romance series. (Code of Conduct) then you are going to love this one.
April White has this incredible talent at writing this amazing heroines. Anna is no exception! As for our hero, well he rivals that of a Disney prince, he is also, however, well written and together they have incredible chemistry.
A well written, sweet, quirky story that will not disappoint. This story had me engaged from beginning to end. Another fantastic addition to the Penny Reid Universe!

April White has done it again! While this is a standalone, it was preceded by Code of Conduct, which was one of my absolute top reads last year. I went in with high hopes and this delivered in ways I never expected.
There’s a physical feeling I get when a book has me entirely invested and excited. It’s often tied to romance, to banter and chemistry and delicious tension. It feels like my chest is rising, joy moving through me in a way that cannot be contained. It doesn’t happen all the time, but I felt it throughout this book and it was especially welcome during this time of my life.
When we first meet Anna Collins, she is impersonating her twin sister Collette at a party. She is there to begin a theft. Anna is not a thief by nature but she has the skill set from her climbing hobby in addition to her work as a bounty hunter. Anna meets Darius at this party, and immediately he sticks in her head as a Disney prince, mainly Aladdin. He doesn’t even seem put off by her lack of filter or her odd musings.
The theft goes perfectly, which is a problem for Darius, who designed the security system. Cipher Security Systems, with all of our lovely familiar characters, is not at fault but the owner is still unhappy.
Anna and Darius dance around each other, adversaries in the pursuit of the truth of this theft and the philosophy of the reason behind it. This is complicated by their immediate companionship and attraction. They spent a magical day together on a boat (and in a bed!) but it can’t go any further. Anna is a firm believer in her moral code, but it doesn’t align with Darius’s belief system.
The twists and surprises in this book made it nearly impossible to put down. Anna is strong and confident woman with vast trivia knowledge, a highly active imagination, and no filter. Darius is smart, patient, and principled, and the family history that brought him from Iran to the US is compelling. When Anna shares how she hears paintings and dances with statues, Darius listens and marvels. It is a wonderful journey to observe as a reader. They know themselves well, openly acknowledge their attraction and their philosophical incompatibility. Their connection is palpable, and I was rooting for this pair just as much as I respected their honesty. I so enjoyed being immersed in bits of art, Iranian history, appreciation of romance novels, and longing looks and thoughts. Anna’s t-shirt quotes spread light and humor throughout these book. The family and friend interactions serve as a strong thread that gives greater depth to an already robust cast of characters. This story has villains and good people and many shades of gray, and the mystery unveiled by the theft goes deeper than any of the characters imagined. The pacing was also perfection.
I loved this book and highly recommend it.

GUYS- This book was hilarious! At one point I almost spit out my coffee; I won’t spoil it for you but let’s just say there was a boat, poop, and chopsticks...
In all seriousness, this book was fantastic. It was everything you want in a romcom with a little mystery thrown in. I think I speak for everyone when I say I cannot wait to see what April White writes next.

Ok so I had really high hopes for this one because, Penny Reid and cipher securities! The plot also sounded like great fun, but within the first 200 pages the protagonists jump straight into bed with descriptions like “I sensed a connection that went far beyond the place our bodies joined, I could see the tendrils of soul that reached out through his skin toward mine”. I can’t usually deal with such over the top descriptions of sex like that unless it’s paranormal sex and there is really like, soul magic or shit like that, leaking out of their pores, then OK I’m willing ignore it. But still I soldiered on because I am generally in the habit of finishing books that I start, and then a couple of pages down the heroine fishes her own poop out of the toilet in the hero’s boat house with wooden chopsticks, and yeah I was pretty much done.

This was such a fun book! I loved the mystery of it! It was a fun ride! I was intrigued from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to see how it all played out! I would definitely recommend this book!

Code of Honor will keep you guessing til the last page! It's not every day that you can find a book that will make you laugh and blush, all while trying to solve a mystery. I'm so in love with the Cipher Security series and this one is my new favorite. Characters with a lack of filter are some of the best, but Anna has NO filter and I guarantee she'll have you rolling on the floor with her antics. This story was entertainment at it's best and I've never wanted to work in a story-based office before, but the guys crack me up and who can pass up a hidden staircase?!? Such a great addition to the series!

Nothing amazing, but worth reading. It was a quick enjoyable read without much thoughts about it afterwards.
