I really, really, really loved this. I have always been intrigued by the phoenix force and new it was being hinted at the end of second coming. This is also a great conclusion to house of m. I only have one problem and that is Emma's new costume that she wears through most of this (not her or original). Can we please stop dressing femal hero's in swim suits or lingerie? It isn't needed nore wanted.

Not particularly long on character development, and a little uneven, but compelling. The story drew me along.

Pretty boring for the most part, but at least you could feel how powerful the phoenix was

Overstuffed with one huge battle after another, with little room for characters to interact before the next throwdown. And, quickly, the battles blur one into the next, feeling much the same, with too similar outcomes. Panel to panel, some of the writing is good but stretched across twelve rounds the narrative sputters.

Interesting but ensemble casts usually leave nothing for several big-hitters to do unlike The MCU, which did this very well.
Rogue, who is my favorite X-Men and a power-house had no visible role to play in any of the conflicts.
But this provides some backstory for [b:The Red Shadow|16002167|The Red Shadow (Uncanny Avengers, #1)|Rick Remender|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1511760549l/16002167._SY75_.jpg|21764144], where Rogue is an Avenger.

This was a pretty good event, I was a little disappointed that the art in the core series was pretty poor for at least half of the issues. Seems like big events should get a bigger budget. I think the thing that really worked with this event was that Cyclops got to be the bad guy. He's the good guy that everybody loves to hate and this gave everyone a reason to hate him even more. Also a big event, the "death" or Professor X. Wonder how long he'll stay dead.
