I don’t tend to gravitate toward poetry, it’s not really my jam but I’m glad I read this and damn, it hurt. I never had an eating disorder but I have always been fat and my heart absolutely broke for June (and her sister) because I know those feelings.

If anyone reading this needs a reminder: You are worthy. Your value is not determined by your size. Food is not the enemy and your size is not right or wrong- no matter how much you weigh.

There were some formatting issues with the version I read on Libby but it was only minorly distracting for someone like me who already isn’t used to reading stories told through poetry.

Average, nothing special. Type of book I would forget I read. Really easy to read and felt like a movie I've watched. Kinda like the Duff meets My Mad Fat Diary. This book just feels like your reading a movie idk. Toby annoyed the hell out of me.

I really enjoyed this and definitely related to some of these things. It’s a very fast read because it’s written numbers which I didn’t know going in. I do wish it was a little more fleshed out but it was still really good.

This was a beautiful story told in verse about a young woman suffering from an eating disorder. She's fat and because of that, no one thinks to question why she does not eat lots, not like how they would for someone who's skinny. I found this story was told so beautifully and it never skipped out on the parts people are afraid to talk about which made it even better. I really connected with this story and character. It's so common for people to have bad relationships with food, and for those to develop into eating disorders so I think a book that really doesn't avoid the hard and unpleasant parts of it is super important!
