Honestly this is the first book I've ever read that made me laugh out loud. As a niece of a Guncle, this warmed my heart and brought back so many personal memories of when I spent time as a nine year old with my Guncle in his home in Palm Springs. This was such a heartwarming book and I loved the resolution of the ending. The pop culture references were perfect and that just added another layer to this book!

Don the caftan, alert the neighbour throuple and put up the pink Christmas tree, it's Guncle time!
Don't be fooled by the whimsical exterior, this book will as much tug at the heartstrings as make you laugh.
GUP (Gay Uncle Patrick) has been put in charge of his niece Maisie and nephew Grant after their mother Sara passes away and their father goes to rehab.
It's a tall order for this single, childless, former sitcom actor. And the results are absolutely charming.
Author Steven Rowley manages the lofty task of writing child characters who are not annoying! Unless he wants them to be annoying! They're like real kids!
Every sentence, every scene, every snip of witty dialogue, pulls you in. You can absolutely visualize this beautiful and hilarious story of love and loss and family and acceptance, just unfolding. It makes you feel somehow cool just for experiencing it.
 Absolutely recommended!
