I remember reading this when I was about 11 or 12 and being obsessed but it probably wouldn't hold up tbh.

Wow

Suffering in silence. I cannot imagine how she was able to deal with this for so long. I loved Jasper’s character. Cole was a great boyfriend. Not sure if I will continue series.

This is to date my #1 favorite book i am I live with the romance between Oakley and Cole! The way Cole cares for Oakley and doesn't Treat her like her famin does. absolutely hate the dad of course he's a piece of shit For what he had done. The way Cole and Oakley's relationship blossomed Throughout the book was just perfect! And don't even get me started with taly and how they finally connected. The ending broke me when she finally talked and Cole was right there with her ready to support her

When I saw Silence I immediately though about The Sea of Tranquility which I loved. I loved that book so much I immediately jumped into this one to see if it would be as good. While I did enjoy Silence, and am going to start the second book when I finish writing this, it wasn't The Sea of Tranquility. The story did have a lot of grammatical errors which did detract somewhat, but really it was too simple or something. Too tell not show. Just a little...I'm trying to find the right words. Not as compelling of a story, or the writing didn't make it as compelling for me.

So Oakley hasn't spoken for many years. Something obviously happened to her to make her stop talking and pretty quick you can figure out what happened and at least one person who was involved. Even though I didn't know the exact details it was pretty obvious right from the start. It was a bit more complicated in the end, but the gist is the same.

Cole is like the sweetest guy ever. He loves Oakley just the way she is. He gets her and is not bothered by her not talking. They still can communicate. And no she doesn't even write anything so there are no actual words between them, just Cole talking and Oakley showing what she means. Cole is just so sweet and kind and tries to do everything he can to help her. I really liked him. I especially liked that he was more realistic. Like he wasn't just perfect guy all the time. He got annoyed with shopping and things which I find most times the boy is so in love he will do anything for the girl and not complain and whatnot. I liked that. Not that Cole won't do anything for her, but he still had things he didn't like but would grudgingly do for her. I don't know. It was nice to see more of a normal (in my experience) teenage boy than Mr. Perfect all the time.

The end seemed pretty quick. It didn't really wrap things up and I was just like no! I need the next book! Thankfully it is out now, but it just seemed really sudden. When everything came out it was bad, though not as upsetting as it should have been for me. I mean upsetting, but not as compelling I guess. I don't know. The writing wasn't bad, but it also didn't draw me completely into the story like I was hoping. Still a good read, but not the best read ever.

This book could not have ended any worse. Things between Oakley and Cole are so questionable. Do they make it work or fall out? The trail, what becomes of it. This baby in the mix, Chris-the-dick, Abby? So many questions left unanswered. I will be purchasing this next book asap.

Took FOREVER to get to the defining moment of the plot. Good overall and I love the author but 30+ chapters to get to a defining moment was a slog.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, especially sweet Cole. I wish there was a little more detail about the trauma that plagued the main character, but perhaps that's in book 2....
