Hilarious as always. This volume focused more on Greg’s classmates and neighborhood kids mostly and focused on winter and snow as the title suggests. Rowley was there for most part of the book which made it better than some other volumes. But I missed Greg’s brother Rodrick and family as they were there for very few panels. Still my favorite.

Book Review: The Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Meltdown is the 13th book of this brilliant ongoing series called “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” written by Jeff Kinney. 18 books have been published in this series to date. Although this is a book that is targeted at children, it is hilarious for every age group. You can pick this up when you are exhausted with life and I promise it’ll crack you up. As adults, it is so easy to get caught up in the complexities of modern life and what we refer to as “Adulting”.  In such times one seeks the solace of a simpler life and simpler times, and what better than childhood to do that? This book is written in the first-person perspective of Greg Heffley. Greg is smart, skinny and a goofball, who narrates his life through the entries that he makes in his personal diary(Is it just me who loves stories that unravel through diary entries?). The diary entries, combined with the comics on every page, work in synergy to effectively narrate the story, taking most of the burden off your imagination when you’re exhausted. From going to school, the behaviour of children, making friends, shenanigans, neighbourhood politics, local myths, and whatnot. If you think that a children’s book is too juvenile for you, think again! It has mystery, suspense, wars, humour, and all the ingredients for a fun read. Especially those who find it hard to read or don’t find the energy to read. This book is as easy as it gets. You will be able to complete this book in a day or two over a weekend and find yourself in a refreshed mood for your Monday blues with a huge smile on your face. I am rating this book 5 out of 5. This one will make you reminisce about your childhood, take you down memory lane, and return you to your present with a smile.
fast-paced

I'll go as high as 3.5 for this one. It had its moments.

Welp... it would appear my reading taste has gone down the drain. I just picked this up with intentions of reading the first page, and....... I read the whole thing. I guess it’s good for getting the reading challenge count up ✌
