I’ll be honest - the last few Wimpy Kid books have felt kind of phoned-in and I was starting to think the series had maybe run its course. But this one is a serious return to form! The whole scenario of the different factions of kids and their full-scale winter warfare with snowballs and snow forts and everything else - it was absolutely HILARIOUS!

We need the Greg Heffleys of the world. 😎

This one had funny moments, of course, but the plot was very contained and a lot of the story felt stale to me. I had a great time reading this because I think these books are always fun, but this plot could have used some more excitement.

I've been re-reading all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books cause I never finished them when I was a kid and I did love the series. I think this is the last one I read as a kid and re-reading it as an adult I can kinda see why.

Compared to all of the other DOAWK books it felt slow and sort of just trickled through the book until the end where there was a VERY action-packed conclusion. It wasn't BAD by any means but it wasn't my favourite of the series

The writing is great. The characters are fun and interesting, but there's too much climate change talk. Kids don't want to read that sort of thing. They just want to enjoy a book about winter, snow, snowball fights and other kid related issues during winter. Come on Jeff Kinney. Write another winter story, but without all the climate talk. We love Greg and his friend, but this needs a little change.
