Suger and Spice is part of the Pine Mountain Series, the book that kicks off a wonder, funny and super special series. This is the story of Pete and Lily.

Lily is a great decorator with limited space as she is forced to make all of her amazing creations in her own kitchen. Then the opportunity of lifetime falls in her lap, Pine Mountain Resort is having a Christmas Cookie competition, and the prize money to the winner will help Lily open her own bakery. What she does not count on is that hot and sexy Pete would be her competition.

Pete works his magic in a restaurant making delicious desserts and wanting nothing more than replace the pastry chef in the city who is rumored to be leaving. Entering and winning the Christmas Cookie competition will be a big boost to his resume. What he does not count on is the shy, firey Lily with her big eyes and meticulous notes.

As the competition gets underway, they do not anticipate the fans seeing sparks flying between them. It gets pretty hot in and out of the kitchen, but there can only be one winner, but will they be able to win at the most important competition, the game of love?

Quick Summary: Deliciousness with a pinch of sweetness

My Review: Sugar and Spice by Kimberly Kincaid was charming. This short novella gave me the feels...for cookies. I mean seriously! Pete and Lily were a perfect blend. Their partnership was couple goals, to be sure.

My Final Say: This was a super cute read. Readers who enjoy a quick speed romance with a scrumptious foodie angle will like this story.

'Sugar and Spice' by Kimberly Kincaid is a perfect christmassy romance - short and sweet. The two protagonists take part in a baking competition and it's such a warm and cozy book, you can't help but fall in love with it. Although this is my first time reading any books in this series of Kincaid's, I was so immersed by Lily and Pete that I will definitely be hunting down the rest of the books.

There is content of a sexual nature halfway through but if you are okay with that and you want a baking cosy Christmas romance, you need 'Sugar and Spice'

A delightful Christmas story full of yummy deliciousness. What says Christmas better than holiday goodies? A baking competition provides the perfect setting for two baking masterminds. Both have a dream of winning for different reasons but only one can be the winner. How can a competition change things between two people who have lived in the same small town for five years? You will have to read this short but perfect holiday novella to find out how.

Competition never can be any sweeter than when Lily and Pete need to compete in a Christmas Cookie contest. While neither of them want to win for the exact same reasons, in the end the two become more than just cookie experts. Wonderfully written and a joy from beginning to end - the truest form of a Christmas Story at its best.

I loved reading this opposites attract read.
Both Lily and Pete are taking part in a cookie cooking competition. She wants to open a bakery with the winnings and he wants a prestigious job in an upmarket restaurant.
When they are paired together for the first round their different ways seem to compliment each other and soon there are sparks between them.
As the competition progresses they get closer but could it tear them apart if the other one wins.
Loved the ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was a cute quick read. I’m not sure if it’s classed as a novella but if felt about that length. Because of that the characters and their chemistry were a little under developed. That said I still enjoyed it for the Hallmark holiday vibes.

Sugar and Spice was a quick read and a great reintroduction to Pine Mountain as Kimberly Kincaid is updating her series. I hadn’t read the original version but I loved this.

Pete Mancuso and Lily Callahan are competing in a cookie competition, as someone who loves watching Holiday Baking Championship and Cookie Challenges on the Food Network I was excited to read this.

Pete and Lily have heard (not all great things) of each other given it’s a small town but had never really spoken prior to the competition. They are immediately paired up for the first challenge and start their relationship. They were certainly a case of opposites attract and were perfect for each other.
Thank you @netgalley for the ARC!

3.5 stars!

"Sugar and Spice" by Kimberly Kincaid is a short but sexy and sweet insta-love /enemies-to-lovers novella about Lily and Pete, who meet during a baking competition and are immediately drawn to one another. It's mostly engaging, but being that this is a novella, the story obviously moves quickly...a little *too* quickly for my taste. We don't get a big deep dive into these characters, though we do get enough to piece together their motivations and wants. I wanted more time with these characters! It doesn't necessarily go how you would expect it to go, and I found that refreshing.

You can finish this read in just a few short hours. It's a holiday story, but it's not overloaded with Christmas cheer (apart from the many, many mentions of mistletoe). I wish it had been a full-length novel! Can't wait to read more books by Kimberly Kincaid.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kimberly Kincaid, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with an ARC copy of this book! All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for my review.
