While I want to continue this because I’m sure it gets better, right now it’s just a slog to get through. It’s very repetitive. And while the sentiment and truth it’s reiterating is important, I’m just not getting what I want/need from this right now.

Great book on how God’s love for us through the gospel can transform our daily lives. It is filled with many encouraging truths, but the author also doesn’t shy away from asking convicting questions. The way it reads is almost like a counseling session with the author. Her writing is very personal and transparent. Only reason that I don’t give it 5 stars is because it seemed that the author made some of the same points more than once, so it felt a little repetitive and I thought the book could have been a little shorter. The chapters aren’t super long though so it works well as a devotional. Would definitely recommend!

Allow God's love to transform our identity. Relatable stories. Chapter 10 was my favorite. Sometimes we get identity amnesia by wordly wisdom instead of what we know about God. Compares us to foster children that has a history of abuse, believe they have to win parent's approval to escape punishment and abandonment. Obedience has to motivated by our love for God in response to His grace. Book strongly encouraged us to meditate on God's love regularly.

I think I’ll just keep reading this over and over this year.

This book came to me with incredible timing. While there were some small points I didn't necessarily fully agree with, I think that the main message is so important for long-time Christians to hear: we are unconditionally loved by God, and we are already fully saved and fully redeemed. We can rest in that identity and live our lives, pursuing holiness only out of pure love and gratitude for the one who loved us first.

I was disappointed in this audiobook and gave up halfway through. Instead of it being an encouragement to live in the reality of the transforming love of God I found it very condemning. I enjoyed the introduction the most as it was very down to earth and easy to listen to although it was challenging. The narration by Renee Raudman is excellent and had me feeling that I was in an intimate setting, but it was let down by the heavy theology. At times without realising it my mind had wandered off and I'd missed segments of the chapter, it really couldn't keep my attention. I would only recommend this to listeners who come from the same theological background as the author, or maybe someone who is studying this particular subject as there are lots of scripture passages. There are so many better audio books out there that are far more encouraging. Thanks to christianaudio.com Reviewer's Program for this copy.

I rarely spend so much time reading a book, but Elyse Fitzpatrick has written a theologically deep, soul-transforming book that deserves extra time! "Jesus loves me" may seem like the most basic, inane statement; but unless that truth roots itself deep in our hearts, we will never be able to live out transformed lives.

Each chapter is accompanied by a set of questions to further probe our hearts. It is definitely worth the extra time to slow down and experience the content, instead of just rushing past it.

I also found it so helpful to go through the book with a friend, to talk about the hard things and the joyful things. Also - guys, don't be put off by the butterflies and flowers. I'm honestly a little annoyed at the publisher for the feminine branding of this book, because it is a very gender-neutral book that should be read by everyone!
