It was fun to read an Australian novel and there were some lovely bits of writing here but the protagonist stressed me out! All the moving around, never being satisfied, I felt sorry for her family. I understand that those times were difficult, especially for women, but I wasn't particularly rooting for her. A quick read but not one that will probably stay with me.
