Really good for such a short story. I haven't read the novels this is a prequel for, but I must say I will. There's enough world building to make it a sort of standalone, so you don't need to read the rest of the series. There's enough character building to get you to care for them, and make you want to read more about them. It's a very quick read, and I enjoyed it.
