I reread Treasure Island before starting this remix, to make sure I remembered the story, and to better be able to understand the things that were retained, left out, added, or changed for the remix. I am glad I did because I can confidently say that Clash of Steel is vastly superior to Treasure Island. 

The action is more exciting, the plot is thicker and more intense, the characters are much more developed and interesting, the setting is more spectacular and vivid, the ending is more satisfying, basically it is better in every way and rereading the original made that very clear to me.

the last 100 pages were quite enjoyable. everything leading up to that wasn’t super engaging and dragged a lot.
still a decent story but I don’t think the last portion was enough to warrant reading the whole book.
