I really enjoyed this remix of Treasure Island, and the way this story went. Some of it was definitely predictable, but honestly I loved it more. It did leave some things unanswered which honestly makes sense with certain things. I would continue this remix collection for sure.
Read this in 6 days I could not put it down!! Absolutely beautiful story with incredible characters! Had me fully crying on the subway! Pacing is a little slow for the first half but it definitely pays off in the end!!

This reminds me of the fairytales I used to read as a kid. There was action and romance and tales to be told. At times, the story lulled, but I had a good time reading nonetheless.

Overall, this is a lovely read. The characters are likeable and it is a creative remix of Treasure Island. I wish there had been a bit more action and a chance to get to know the characters, especially the crew, a bit more, but the romance was cute and heartwarming.

A pretty untypical story, I’d say. Interesting but not as adventurous and “piratey” as I thought it would be.
The last 25% of the book is basically just about how the main character chooses the closest from her loved ones, which, of course is an inner battle, but she really lingers back and forth, not being able to decide which one to choose. I would have preferred for that at times annoying dialogue to be replaced with some more action.
But there were also good things in the story. For example, maturing to realize who one really was and pursuing that true self, finding love and being brave.
Overall pretty good but I expected more.
