Favorite poems from this collection: Harriet Tubman, Lessie, Aunt Roberta, Keepsake, and Way Down in the Music. I love Greenfield's poems and the Dillons' illustrations.

Loved this collection of poetry. It reminded me of Jacqueline Woodson. Perfect for those who want to reminisce about their childhoods.

This book is a very cute collection of poems about life. They teach us to love the little things and why. I would recommend this book to many people who want to enjoy life.

This book contains illustrations and references that are classic 70s. However, there is a timelessness to the poems that will take the reader right back to their own childhood.

I loved that there was a variety of structured poetry and prose in this book. All of the poems are written about topics that children can relate to: jumping rope, riding in a car, taking music class in school, dressing up in parents' clothes, and playing with friends. This is a good selection of poetry that is on the childrens' level and is still interesting.
Personally, I didn't care for most of the poems because they were very short and didn't hold my attention. The topics covered are somewhat mundane real life events, so I didn't find them as compelling.
