I couldn't put this story down. Anyone that has a tough relationship with a parent is going to have emotions and memories bubble up as Jay experiences his own. The minute to minute struggle with the whale surrounded by facts made me feel claustrophobic with information. The only thing I didn't like was the abrupt ending to the book.

I would give this a 3.5 ⭐️

Really cool format, the flashing of the memories with the present were very effective and disorienting at times while Jay is obviously frantic and disoriented.

Interesting story about the tense relationship between fathers and sons, very cool concept!
