This book is like “Armageddon” set in the ocean instead of space. It’s preposterous nonsense that is incredibly entertaining. I really enjoyed this book, but you have to suspend a sperm whale’s weight of disbelief while reading it. Just turn off your brain and enjoy the ride.

One of the best books I've read this year. A tense emotional story about coming to terms with the shortcomings of ourselves and those we love all while our protagonist attempts to survive inside a magnificent creature we are largely responsible with driving to extinction. This book touches on reconciliation, loss, resilience in the face of dire circumstances and the role we all play in protecting our precious earth. A must read!

Not really into the "father-son story of my dad is an asshole and I'm messed up because of it and am dealing with it now. " Childhood backstory and trauma interspersed through quick paced adventure tale. Gritty.
