- Twenty years ago, a baby was snatched right out of a stroller in a supermarket. In present day, someone is murdered in a nursing home. How are these related? You’ll have to read to find out!
- The four POVs + connected folks are:
- Patience: an 18 year old working at a nursing home.
- Edith: an elderly woman living at a nursing home.
- Clio: a therapist.
- Frankie: a prison librarian
- This marks the 5th book I’ve read by Feeney. I think there’s only one I haven’t read yet of hers. I love her writing style. Her books flow nicely, and I typically get through them pretty quickly. I made it through this one in a day.
- Feeney does a great job developing characters & is an expert at plotting a good thriller.
- This kept my attention throughout, and I kept wanting to see how everything was connected. I enjoyed how little details are sprinkled throughout & everything starts coming together.
- Although some aspects of the story are predictable, it didn’t take away the enjoyment for me.
- The ending was okay. Not amazing, but not bad.
- I am a sucker for complex family relationships, and there’s a lot of those in this one.
- There are multiple POVs & multiple timelines in this one.

The narrators were good, but their voices were too similar and made it harder to keep track of whose POV you were in if you came back to the book in the middle of a chapter. Luckily the chapters were named for the character whose POV it was from.
Overall a good book, I just wish it had been a bit less predictable.
