There are some beautiful moments here - like Laurel, despite her misgivings, showing up at the shower. But overall I felt disappointed with the arcs for almost every character. We never get to see the healthy romantic relationships; those are always off-page. Jeremiah is so senselessly pushed in a direction here to be SO different to Conrad (literally instead of the aware, friendly brother he's now the cheating frat boy who doesn't know how to cook or clean with bad credit) when I think the actual point is that they'll always be from the same family/past. The ending was too abrupt.

Good job Belly, you made the right choice

not as good as the other two

A solid ending to this trilogy. Nothing disappointing, nothing life-changing. Just a happy ending.

I knew what to expect from the ending after seeing spoilers accidentally, so I can’t judge much on shock factor. Knowing the ending, though, I can say that the rest of the books leads into it very smoothly.

Putting my personal feelings and ships aside, Jenny Han does an excellent job tying in backstory and flashbacks with the present. She conveys each characters feelings well, and I loved getting to see Conrad’s point of view every few chapters. Giving Belly a few new friends and focusing some on her college life before the boy drama made me like her just a bit more (not that I disliked her in the first place.)

In an effort to avoid spoiling it, all I’ll say about the plot itself is that certain people in this book drove me CRAZY. Namely Belly. Several times. Some decisions were made and words were said that just… irked me beyond belief.

The audiobook itself is narrated by Lola Tung from the Summer I Turned Pretty show, and she does an incredible job! Christopher Briney, narrating the Conrad chapters, is also great and keeps the tone of the story consistent, even when switching narrators.

All in all, 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Would be five if I wasn’t so annoyed by certain people, but still great!
