So now I've finally reached the end of this manga.
It was so incredibly beautiful and I just can't get over that. The ending made me tear up, and made me really think about life.
I was nearly screaming when Kakeru nearly commited suicide, I was so shocked, how he was going to kill himself even after what all the friends went through! And then I just got all teary when he told them that he wanted to talk with his mother, and tried to kill himself so he could do so ... The fact that he said he didn't want to do it anyway in the last second, because he thought that life was worth living anyway, that made me cry. The group of friends actually managed to save his life!
The ending was so beautiful, and made me think so much. I just can't get over it.
What bothered me somehow at first is; if the future people changed the past to save Kakeru's life, wouldn't THEIR future disappear then? Was saving their friend's life really worth sacrificing your own happiness? KAKERU choose to kill himself, and it wasn't anyone's fault even though it may look like it - YOU make a choice of what to do with your life, oh you're living a shitty life? It's up to you if you want to take your own life then, or not. It's not anyone elses fault if you do it. That's how I look at it, the thing with humans that makes us different from animals is that we can make our OWN choices.
So why sacrifice THEIR future to save their past? What happend has happend, there's no changing it. That's how I look at it anyway.
But then, when we got to know that their future wouldn't change even though they changed the past, I was happy.
But I was sad all the same too, because they would never, never, see their friend again.
I can't see this making any sense to people that haven't read this volume yet, so I'm going to mark it all as a spoiler.
But what also bothered me about these last chapters was that it began to get confusing when they changed the scenes between the present, the future and the future's past, if that makes any sense. It got confusing but I managed to overlook that, because the story was as beautiful as it was.

This is one of the best mangas I've read. I like how it explores regret, honesty, and the butterfly effect. Excellent spin on a popular genre.

I'm glad I finished it because the message of this manga is a wise one,
BUT
it was long and painful to read for me because of Naho. Sometimes I can recognize that my dislike comes from cultural choc, but not this time. Naho is just a weak character. Erase her and honestly... they'd be fine (the other characters). She exists to be a love interest, and that's just sad.
That being said, the drawings are beautiful. That saves the manga for me.

5/5
"Living is the most difficult thing to do"
this series was absolutely beautiful and devastating and the same time, I thought the discussion around depression was so well done that it brings tears to my eyes.
this series was incredible and I'm very glad I read it.

If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would...my heart was not prepared for this volume. Absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
