I love the chemistry of Evie & Carter, but sometimes the writing was really cringey. I love Christina Lauren's books, Love and Other Words is my all time favorite book, but this one just missed the mark on some writing. Overall the book had a great plot and ending. Evie & Carter are so cute. 3.5/5 stars

Meh… this book was okay. A mix of the hating game with Bridget jones diary vibes but as much as I enjoyed the story, it felt that the middle section dragged on and very immature and cringey descriptions I just couldn’t get over as they were throughout the whole book. Also, my god did these characters moan about the same thing for 90% of this book, valuing communication in relationships but never actually doing it!

This was a pretty enjoyable book. A lot was going on and their were a few moments where I just wanted to move on but overall I really enjoyed it. The story outside of the romance was interesting, and I liked the conclusion of it.

Brad really annoyed/pissed me off which was the point so job well done. And I liked the chemistry between the two main characters.

3 stars.

I was going to put 3.5 rounded up to 4 but it just didn’t do that much for me. It also didn’t offend me in any way to it gets a solid middle of the road 3 stars.

First of all this book was sooooo slow. I wasn’t sure it was ever going to end. And although I liked the characters there just didn’t seem to be much substance in the story. For real nothing truly happens for over 200 pages. And then all at once, 15 pages until it ended all the things happened. I mean come on!?!?

In the authors notes CLo admitted that this book took them longer to write and that the first draft didn’t even resemble the final one. I can 100% tell this this book didn’t come easy to them because it was not easy to read.

All in all this one was my least favorite Christina Lauren book but they are still one of my favorite authors and an auto buy. I will also still be working through their entire back list.
