I watched the series before reading these so I couldn’t concentrate on the book much.

Fun side story from the Sabrina universe. Best part: Getting to know Harvey, Prudence, and Roz through their own POVs. (And the Harvey-Nick bromance? *chef's kiss*)

Like Season of the Witch, Daughter of Chaos is an alternate universe of the original show. But I find that this book kept more parts of the show in it mixed with the original story of the book. (This might not make any sense but I donʼt know how to describe this better)

I also find that this book centered a bit more around Harvey. Which Iʼm okay with because Harvey is one of my favourite characters. His friendship with Nick is one of the most entertaining things ever. I love them both together.

However, Harbrina has sailed and Nabrina is thriving. I was such a fan of Harbrina until Nabrina happened. Now I am a child of Nabrina. Hehe.

So excited for Path of Night to come out! Also, Part 3 is streaming on Netflix tomorrow! Yay!

Better than the first one, so it has that going for it. This was actually really close to half the show, which is always a pleasant surprise.

This series is okay if you want to get a lil bit more about the characters but I am totally not following the storylines with the tv series. It's fun but I do not expect anything extra from it. so it is okay!

Was a let down to what i was expecting. I wanted more gore and horror when it felt like a massive book of filler.

Daughter of Chaos" by Sarah Rees Brennan continues the enthralling Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series with a captivating blend of supernatural intrigue and teenage drama. Brennan skillfully navigates Sabrina Spellman's world, adding layers of complexity to her character. The novel explores Sabrina's struggle with her dual identity as a witch and mortal, delving into the consequences and sacrifices that come with such a destiny.

The writing is spellbinding, creating an atmospheric and immersive experience for readers. Brennan introduces new elements to the series, expanding its mythos while staying true to the dark and eerie tone that defines the Chilling Adventures universe. The pacing is well-balanced, keeping the narrative tense and engaging, and the character relationships are thoughtfully portrayed, adding emotional depth to the story.

Sabrina's journey of self-discovery and the challenges she faces resonate with authenticity, making her a relatable protagonist despite the fantastical setting. The novel also introduces fresh twists and turns, keeping fans of the series on the edge of their seats. Whether navigating the complexities of teenage life or battling dark forces, Sabrina's character remains the anchor of the story, and Brennan expertly crafts a narrative that keeps readers invested in her journey.

"Daughter of Chaos" is a must-read for those who appreciate a seamless blend of the supernatural and the human experience. Brennan's contribution to the Chilling Adventures series enhances its appeal, providing a satisfying continuation for existing fans and a compelling entry point for those new to Sabrina's bewitching world.

I received a copy for review - thank you to the publisher/author for the chance to read this!

I've been a long-time Sarah Rees Brennan fan, and while TV tie-ins are not quite my thing, and Sabrina is a show I watch but don't feel that fannish about, this is well worth reading even for a casual watcher, and a must-read for a fan - much more so than the prequel first novel. Brennan fills in some gaps and while she's sometimes bound by the series (as evident in the necessity to have the plot of this story match what we know even if that requires some narrative handwaving of consequences), her perspective on the characters and insight into their hearts and minds makes this utterly readable.

It's charming, and poignant, and the interactions between Harvey and Prudence alone are a pleasure to read. And then there's Nick and Harvey, and Ambrose, and Prudence herself, being fierce, and sympathetic, and glorious. I liked her before reading this, and this made me love her more. Brennan imbues the characters with rich inner lives and complex emotions; she's funny, but angst is where her writing shines, and once again, the Kinkles (who I care so little about when I watch the show) made my heart break as I read about Harvey's hunger for affection.

In addition, while the first novel had a somewhat forgettable plot, this time the emotional journey of the characters it tied into the central mystery, and the stakes are higher.

I will look out for the conclusion, and can't wait for more of the series, too.
