Adisa has created a collection of poems that draw upon passion in all its forms and affects. There are poems that are written with such sensuality that the meaning leaves the reader wanting more, others that reflect pain and yearning that go unanswered, and still others that are fresh with wit and Jamaican fiyah.

She traces the history of our island with historical passion to craft a picture of what was lost and what we retained. Family features prominently in this collection with crisp images of mother, daughter, and grandmother's relationship with love and its affect on their interactions.

Memory ties this collection together, and runs through each poem with passion of such depth as to submerge the reader. These poems will resonate and rebound in your mind with their sexual eloquence, relational passion, and redolent desire.
