Don’t read this straight after Heartstopper Vol 4 it will cause actual whiplash. Going from “awww I’m so happy and proud of them” to “they have sex in this one” is actually hilarious.

Anyway, it reads kind of like a really great fanfiction which is never a bad thing

"Exactly. Two idiots in love. Couple goals."

Nick and Charlie is a Heartstopper novella that has been on my radar for quite some time. Heartstopper is one of my favorite graphic novels and I always planned to read the novellas related to the graphic novel. And when I saw this one in my bookstore, I couldn't resist. And I really liked it. It's a bittersweet story about the excitement of going to college but also the fear of leaving. It's a good addition to the series, with a good structure, an interesting plot, and the loveable characters that we know and love. It's also super short, so it's pretty easy to read.
I really recommend this novella and the main graphic novel.

What a sweet little story about the world's cutest boys! I found I strongly prefer Nick and Charlie in graphic form — it was hard to make the mental switch to being inside their heads rather than seeing them on the page and "outside" their heads, as it were. But I thought this story dealt with their feelings and the anxieties of high school relationships quite accurately, from both perspectives. I'm so glad Alice Oseman created these characters :)
