Honestly stopped being interesting. The dialogue no longer made sense and the overt sexual themes got boring. The back and forth just got to a point where there was no progress made between the two. I liked the premise but not enough substance to hold me unfortunately.

Wird zum Ende hin gut und spannend. Bis 90% passiert leider nicht viel Unerwartetes oder Weltveränderndes.

I wanted to love this book, I really and truly did, but I had a really hard time with it.. it just fell short for me. I had to put it down multiple times because the story was just getting repetitive and annoying. Let me explain..

Nyfain and Finley’s ENTIRE story this book went like this - Finley wants Nyfain to claim/mate her, Finley’s animal eagerly wants the same, Nyfain’s dragon wants to claim/mate Finley/her animal, and Nyfain wants to claim/mate Finley BUT repeatedly stopped himself from doing so for a stupid ass reason. I get being the hero and wanting to save your girl, but this was just him being stubborn and not thinking. I felt like I was one of the residents of the castle, stuck in an endless loop of the same things happening for 300+ pages.

The only vaguely interesting thing that happened amongst all the non-claiming and angry fucking or occasional “lovemaking” was that Finley essentially saved an entire village with her everlass healing elixirs and it made the enchanted rose bush start blooming again.

I did love the Beauty & the Beast retelling concept that continued on from A Ruin of Roses to A Throne of Ruin! I still LOVE Hadriel (my favorite character), he is the absolutely necessary comedic relief! Also, the spice was top notch. If I rate the spice separately, that’s a 5/5

what did I just read

It’s a train wreck you can’t look away from. Is it good? No. Did I finish it? Yes… no idea.

5 Stars!!

This series is quickly climbing to my favorites 2022 list! The romance, smut and fantasy were amazing!

DNF at 80%. This wasn’t bad at all, I just started it so long ago that I can’t really get back into it because I have no clue what’s going on lol. Spice is majorly spicing though. 2.5/5 (3 leaning).
