I don’t know what Logic is up to now but I’m glad it isn’t writing books. I’m not even a fan of his music but the premise of the book sounded interesting enough.
It… had a good concept. I can give it that.
But once you realize what’s going on through the painfully obvious hints and incredibly juvenile writing style, it’s literally just Fight Club if it was written by a high schooler. (The publisher of the novel within the story is literally named Ed Norton, spelled a smidge different than the actor in the film adaption.) If someone of that age wrote this book, I’d be impressed. Dude should’ve used his money from his music career and gotten a ghostwriter to polish it up.
There’s a reason this book was sitting on my shelves for years and I can’t believe I was bored enough to actually read the whole thing.

literal trash. felt like i was reading an essay by a 15 yr old boy who transcribed his thoughts via voice recorder without an ounce of proofreading.
The first time I read this book I loved it! It got me back into reading. I thought I’d reread it because I enjoyed it so much but I think other books ruined it for me. The book has such potential but I just couldn’t get into it. I forced myself to finish it. Flynn annoyed me all through out the book and I kept trying to like him and it just didn’t happen for me. Mia was just a basic female protagonist written by a man. I feel like this story just was lacking big time.
Oooff, unfortunately did not get far with this one. The writing, the main character, it was all over the place. When you have an unreliable narrator like this, you really need to be a stronger writer and unfortunately, Hall wasn’t there when he wrote this.
Uh. Here’s the thing. I should have known from the person who recommended it to me it was going to be bland. But it literally was like a piece of unseasoned chicken that you’ve eaten time and time again (well I don’t, because I’m a vegetarian). Literally, the quote from Ernest Cline on the back panel lets the reader know the ENTIRE plot… maybe it was subtext to warn the reader to not waste their time. Listen. It was fine. But it’s been done better by plenty of others.

This was the dumbest book I’ve ever read- really wanted to like it but this actually sounded like it was written by a 12 year boy
This book made my head hurt, it wasn’t bad but it was also so confusing. It’s the type of book that makes you feel like you’re the one having a possible break down.
One of the best writing haha, great work! I feel like it accomplished everything it was set to do! Love the breaking of the 4th wall and talking to us readers, loved the mind fucking and guessing what was real what wasn’t. The ending is ..great!!! So many great conversations and thoughts, I felt understood and most importantly very much entertained. Would definitely read anything else he comes up with!
