If I could I unread a book, it would be this one. The writing doesn't do anything for me. The multiple pop culture references is overbearing and overplayed. The characters are one dimensional and tasteless. Comparing a female character's looks/personality to two actresses is lazy writing.
Generous to say that 99% of this book is telling rather than showing. Using dialogue rather than action is boring and takes away the fun of reading a book. I understand it's his first time writing a book, but it's more of a rough draft's rough draft.

I’m sure this is a five for some people. I feel like this book has a more specific audience. It wasn’t my cup of tea.
The way the main character talked to the audience and kept going back in time to explain things wasn’t my favourite thing. The way he had zero self awareness for his own mental health, and the fact that even after waking up in the asylum he wouldn’t take his prescriptions bothered me. The external battle of the internal personalities was a bit much for me.

probably one of the worst books I’ve ever read, writing is so bad, sexist and racial undertones, just sad since the plot sounded pretty interesting and the cover looks cool
Absolutely not the book for me. Nothing I enjoyed in those 28 pages. Poor writing. The plot sounded SO GOOD!
I actually quite enjoyed this journey! Never was bored even once. Read it fast and wanted to read it when I was away from it. Enjoyed the fucked up characters! Enjoyed the fucked up way it was written, the fucked up narration. Yeah, so I figure out everything before it happened, that sucks a bit, but I still wanted to watch it unfold and wonder if I was right (even though I was every time). I’m ok with that. 4 fucked up stars!
