At first I wasn't enjoying the book... Then part 2 happened.
emotional tense medium-paced

Don’t waste your money on this garbage!!! I let the minimalist cover fool me and I got roped in. Honestly, the only thing I enjoyed about this book WAS the cover. The fact that it’s even a book is mind blowing. It reads like a high school kid’s work. I can’t believe I wasted $15 on it.

So basically that was the worst book I've read in recent memory. If I could give it a negative rating, then I would. Not even Stephenie Meyer or EL James could write this bad. I was wondering why this author could have gotten a book deal. Apparently he's a relatively popular rapper whose clout could have possibly helped.

Anyway, the only reason to pick up and read this book is to see how bad it actually is.

0.5 stars. Holy predictability Batman! This sucked! I got lured in with a cool cover and promises of psychological horror and got absolute dog water writing and even worse plot. This was bad. The writing was juvenile, the logic was SO stretched. If you have a single brain cell you can see exactly how this book is going to turn out. I only finished it to see if MAYBE Hall was going to do something ACTUALLY surprising and he didn’t. This was just bad. Bad bad bad.

I really enjoyed the youthful exuberance of the writer's voice in this. Only after completing the novel and reading the acknowledgements did I discover just how uniquely positive a force of nature Bobby Hall is. I hope to read more of the author's work when it eventually becomes available.

Was fun. Fight club without the politics.

4/5 stars! Well that was a surprise. The reviews for Bobby Hall’s Supermarket are less than encouraging. I originally picked this up from Target based solely on the fact that it uses the same font as Stranger Things. But I was happily surprised with this little twisted book. I wish I hadn’t read the blurbs for this one. The blurb on the back and the book’s synopsis compare this story to a few popular movies which really gave away the book’s plot twist ~ so don’t read too much into it if you’re looking to pick this one up!
