I love Nyktos that is the only thing that saved this book and all his story, the explanation of what he did and the reveal of when he did it and the magic words to saved her. Finally it happened. I cried a LOT at the end of this book.

I really like the love story between Nyktos and Sera. I like that we saw more of Kolis side. I don’t know if this is going to give more background and we can understand more for Blood and Ash series and how that one end.

I didn’t like at all that everything was only like Sera talking to herself and so much monologue. I think this book can be done in less pages and it felt like a refilled book. I also didn’t like that half of the book they were separated.

I’m giving the 4 stars just because I love Nyktos.

A bit slow. Soms big things happen but not a lot for the amount of pages

Another fantastic read from JLA. Loving Ash as much as I love Cas from Blood and Ash series.
Reasons for a 4 and not 5 stars was that I wanted more to happen between Sera and Kolis. The interactions were a little underwhelming and didn't paint Kolis out to be as villainous as we had heard or seen in previous books (aside from his brutal obsession - but then again he didn't really get too physically intimate with Sera). I also didn't care for the end. I get that things happened and now spice (which was great) but that fact it was just different chapters and more spice, I started to get bored and wanted plot.

The first half of this book was hard to read because I love Sera & Nyktos SO much, but the last half (especially the last few chapters) more than made up for it.

I saw from many other reviews that this needed a trigger warning… there’s an entire author’s note in the beginning the outlines the dark themes in this book. It doesn’t need a trigger warning, people just need to read.
